The Vine Church is a joyful and loving faith community all about Jesus. We believe belonging comes first. Anyone who wants to explore Jesus is welcome. We embrace diversity and seek to live out Jesus' love. You're invited to join us on this journey!
In John 15, Jesus says that He is the vine and we are the branches. If we remain in Him, we will bear good fruit. Outside of Him, we can do nothing. We acknowledge that Jesus is the only hope for this church. Jesus’ final call to his followers was to make disciples. We believe that equipping disciples to make more disciples holds the potential to see a Kingdom Movement take root here in the Tri-Cities, WA. Missional communities (MCs) are mid-sized groups (think extended family) on mission. MCs enable people to learn to live in the rhythms of Christian life: an equal priority placed on the Up (God), In (The Body) and Out (The world around us). Corporate times of worship invite us to celebrate what God is accomplishing in and through us in our daily lives. Mission Statement: As followers of Jesus, we live to love God, love people and make disciples. The Place: Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, WA…The Tri-Cities. Rivers and vineyards capture your attention. Our education systems are great, our population is well educated, and our average household income is above the national average. 300 days of sun each year allow for enjoyable outdoor activities year-round. Philanthropy is a priority in our community. In 2010, Kiplinger rated the Tri-Cities among the Top 10 best places to raise a family, and CNN/Money ranked the Tri-Cities as one of the top 10 best bets for gains in housing value, due to its relatively stable economic conditions since the early 2000s. The Need: And yet…our community is in desperate need of the Gospel message. The Tri-Cities, WA is 18% evangelical Christian. Even more staggering, between the years 2000-2010 our population grew by 23% and during that same time period our churches reported a decline in attendance of 18%. We desire to work alongside the existing faith community to turn the tide. We love the Tri-Cities and believe that the gospel message holds the power to propel this community far beyond where it is today. Our community needs new churches, engaging new people. The Vision: In the next 5 years, we pray to see missional communities gathering people to Christ and serving in significant ways throughout the Tri-Cities. We desire to see disciples making more disciples. Our worship experience will serve as a time of celebration and reflection, before sending us back onto the mission field for the week to come. By year 5, we will be financially self-sufficient and in the planning phase of a second church plant. Core Values: Love Deeply • Love God – Allow God to be Lord of every aspect of our lives. Live devoted to God pursuing Him in prayer, worship and scripture. • Love People – Welcome everyone, share the gospel, see God’s transformation take place. • Love People – Reach into our community and every relationship with help and hope. Give Generously • Give Generously of our Time - Active in the life of a missional community, willing to volunteer. • Give Generously of our Money - Tithing and willing to respond when additional needs arise. • Give Generously of our Gifts and Abilities - Serving in meaningful ways in the church and community. Make Disciples • Following Christ – Head level change. Walking hand in hand with him through life. • Being Changed – Heart level change. Allowing Christ to work in our lives, shaping and molding us by the Spirit. • Living out His mission – Allowing Christ to use us in our daily lives to call people to Him. The Plan: In January 2015, we will complete the formation of our seed team. After a period of training and growth, our seed team will form the church’s first 3 missional communities. As these groups grow and critical mass is reached, we will look towards launch. Prior to Launch, we will hold monthly preview services and begin advertising. In July 2015, we pray to launch our Worship Experience. With an equal priority placed on missional communities and worship experiences, we strive to be known as a church with a huge capacity to serve and send. Finances: To accomplish this mission, we need to raise $79,000 per year for 3 years. This means that we are seeking to raise $6,600 per month. We are inviting churches and individuals to join our support team with monthly pledges ranging from $100-$1000. These funds will provide for the lead planter’s salary and initial church operating costs. Additional expenses will be covered by the tithes of our seed team and contributions of a growing body. At the end of 3 years, financial needs will be reassessed and the church will begin to cover some salary. By year 5, the Vine will be self-sufficient. The Team: We are blessed to be partnering with Kairos Church Planting. Kairos’ coaching and guidance are of great value in the journey ahead. Additionally, we are seeking a Church Partner that will come along side this plant with financial and spiritual assistance. We have begun forming a seed team, which we will finalize in January 2015. We will ask seed team members for a 2-year commitment to invest in the early stages of this church plant.

We had a "ball" (oh yes, that just happened!) at kickball Sunday! Thank you for sharing such a great family event; looking forward to being together again tomorrow morning! To put on your radar: Our BBQ and splash pad event is June 29th, 11:30am at the Badger Mountain Splash Pad! 💦☀️🍔🌭
Some of our middle schoolers and one of our Branches made dinner and hung out with teen mamas and their babes at YoungLives tonight. Such a joy to be around such strong and determined young women!

As adults, we have a lot to learn from these precious humans God has entrusted to us. Here is a little taste of Sunday. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! At The Vine Church yesterday, we celebrated Dr. King as a man committed to the principles of love and equality that Jesus taught. He accomplished so much, and yet this work is not over. We each have a part to play as we move forward together loving our neighbor as ourselves.
